In April of 2001, two of New England’s premier middle-market merger and acquisition firms, Anania & Associates and Nelson & Caras LLC, joined forces to form Leaders LLC. The goal in bringing together these two well-respected firms was to assemble a team of professionals that could provide the skills and depth of the larger investment banking firms, while maintaining the cost structure and client focus of a smaller firm. In October 2003, Maine's former two-term governor, Angus King joined the firm to advise clients regarding M&A strategies. Since forming, Leaders has successfully advised a diverse group of sell-side and buy-side clients, ranging from small locally-based owner/operators, to multi-billion dollar NYSE conglomerates.

J.R. Campbell & Associates, Inc. was formed in early 1981 to provide highly focused marketing consulting services to the US and international industrial, medical and specialty gases businesses, and the related high pressure and cryogenic systems businesses.  The firm has developed comprehensive computer-based databases and analytical models on most aspects of the industrial, medical and specialty gases and related technology and support systems. These tools provide timely and cost-effective analyses of a wide variety of market, operations and investment projects from its market research resources.

J.R. Campbell & Associates provide consulting services in the US and overseas.  They include developing strategic and marketing plans, market surveys and analyses, new product rollouts, cus¬tomer targeting programs, sales force productivity improvement programs, valuations and M&A.

1989 - Purchased the journal Cryogenic Information Report.  In 1991 this was reconfigured to CryoGas International, the leading journal which covers the US and international industrial, medical and specialty gases, and related systems industries.

1995 - Improved its coverage of European client interests by forming an alliance with Spiritus Consulting Ltd. (aka CryoGas Consulting Ltd.) out of the UK with Mr. John Raquet. Subsequently sold share to Raquet, maintaining a cooperative relationship with Spiritus.

1997 - Expanded in capabilities with the formation of a dedicated Market Research Department, under the direction of Maura Garvey, and expanded its Associate Consultant ranks with several highly qualified semi-retired industry experts and executives.

2002 – Formed an alliance with Leaders LLC to provide M&A intermediary service to the U.S. and international industrial, medical and specialty gas and related technology businesses.
